I saw this movie over the weekend and I LOVED IT!!! It was funny, with witty dialogue and yet, was dark in some respects and very touching in others. I loved the characters, even the ones who are only in it for one scene. They were all just very memorable in their own way and all colorful and well written. I haven't yet seen that many of his films, but I am definitely becoming a Wes Anderson fan. This movie is well worth the price of a movie ticket and I highly, highly recommend seeing it. :la:

Here's the trailer, if you're interested. :boogie:

I have something very important to tell you guys.  It's something I've been sitting on for the last two weeks, but now I feel I must let you, my watchers, know.

Read carefully now....

You ready?

I GOT  A NEW JOB!!!!!!!!!!! :icondragonspin1::icondragonspin2:

What? Did you guys think I was leaving dA or something? :icontrollfaceplz:

Seriously though, I really did, finally get a new job. I have more hours, so I won't be worrying about will I have enough money to pay bills. I will be starting at more than what I was previously making and I will have benefits. :la: I start tomorrow and I will admit, I am both excited and nervous. I mean, I was at the other office for almost nine years and you know the old saying better the devil you know than the devil you don't :lol: The new office seems nice, but I won't know until I start working there with everyone. So, wish me luck! :woohoo:

I know things change, it's inevitable, but it sucks when it comes at the cost of a fond childhood memory. :( Marcus Dairy is a place I had many good times with both family and friends. As it's name implies, it was a dairy, they sold milk and other dairy projects, but it also was a dinner and every Saturday night during the Summer they held Cruise Night! :la: I loved Cruise Night! I loved looking at all the old cars and Marcus Dairy's lot was huge, so they could get a lot of cars in there. I have always loved old cars, modern ones, though better on gas and all, just don't have personality. (Not that I'm knocking the better gas mileage :) or my new little Subaru and it's awesome AWD, but still). Older cars weren't just cars, they were works of art. My favorite regulars at Marcus Dairy's Cruise Night were a Black Shelby Cobra with silver racing stripes and a red amphicar (it's an amphibious car for those not in the know.) I once asked the guy what it was like driving, "Well, it drives like a boat on land and a car in the water", he replied with a laugh. :lol:
I missed most Cruise Nights the year before last, I think I only made it to one. Just busy with other things and suddenly the season was over. Well, little did I know, it was the last summer for Marcus Dairy. The owners sold the property and they're going to be putting in a Whole Foods there. Why am I writing about it now, you may be asking, a year later? It's because I drove past the site for the first time today and God it's depressing. The only thing left is the white tower bearing the Marcus Dairy logo and I'm sure they'll knock it down in a few days too. I guess the whole thing didn't really hit me until I actually saw it. What's also sad about Marcus Dairy's going is, it's the last symbol of The Danbury Fair. That whole area used to host it. I, unfortunately, don't remember the fair, I was too young, but apparently it was bigger than Massachusetts's Big E. Now, that whole area is nothing but stores and shopping malls. I'm not knocking Whole Foods, I happen to like that store. They have a lot neat and interesting things (they're a tad over priced though), but, did it have to go there?!?! There are so many empty store fronts it could have gone in. And I'm not talking about small spaces, there are a lot of large empty lots Whole Foods could have easily fit into.
I know I will always have the memories; the Sats spent with my father and my friends, looking at all the gorgeous classic cars, and then getting ice cream at the Marcus Dairy Dinner, but, it's sad knowing that there will be no new memories.
